Thus, the Eagles reach their fifth consecutive victory in the national and maintain the distance of five points for second place Porto. The team coached by Roger Schmidt has 56 goals, while the rival has 51.
On the other hand, the visitors are bitter for the fourth straight game without triumph – two draws and two defeats. Thus, it continues with 26 points, in eighth position. The distance for Vitória de Guimarães, the first team within the European league classification zone, increases to eight points.
In the next round, therefore, Benfica will visit Vizela, at 5:30 pm (Brasília time) on Saturday (25), at the FC Vizela Stadium. The following afternoon, starting at 3 pm, Boavista plays against last-placed Paços de Ferreira, away from home, at Estádio da Mata Real.

With the support of their fans, Benfica went on the attack. However, it was really dangerous only in the 47th minute of the first half, with a header by Gonçalo Ramos saved by Brazilian goalkeeper Rafael Bracali.
On the way back from the break, it was another player from Brazil who shone. In the tenth minute, Gilberto took advantage of the rebound and kicked the ball into the net, opening the scoring for the home team at Estádio da Luz.

Sporting beats Chaves in a five-goal game
In the other clash of the 21st round of the Portuguese Championship this Monday, Sporting visited Chaves and won by 3-2. The goals of the Leões were scored by Pedro Gonçalves (twice) and Nuno Santos, while João Teixeira and Héctor Hernández reduced principals.
With the result, the Alviverde team from Lisbon won again and reached 41 points, in fourth place in the competition. The distance to third place Braga, with 49, continues in eight goals. Chaves, on the other hand, suffered the second game in a row without a victory and remained in tenth place, with 26 points.
For the 22nd round, Sporting receives Estoril, at 4 pm on Monday (27), at Estádio de Alvalade, in Lisbon (POR). The day before, starting at 12:30 pm, Chaves will visit Rio Ave, at Estádio dos Arcos, in Vila do Conde (POR).
Before that, however, the Lions turn their attention to the second phase of the Europa League. Next Thursday, the Portuguese team will visit Midtjylland, from Denmark, at 2:45 pm, at the MCH Arena, in Herning (DIN). The first leg, in Portugal, ended in a 1-1 draw.
