After spraining his ankle, Neymar undergoes MRI and has a fracture ruled out

O PSG released a medical report informing the medical condition of Neymar, who suffered an ankle injury this Sunday, in the duel against Lille. The Brazilian underwent an MRI that ruled out a fracture. The playmaker should be reassessed in the next 48 hours.

The 31-year-old was injured after a tackle from behind rival midfielder André Gomes. Neymar ended up spraining his ankle on the pitch and was stretchered off the pitch at the start of the second half. The number 10 had been playing well, contributing a goal and an assist to PSG’s 4-3 victory.

With just over two weeks to go before the decisive match against Bayern Munich, Neymar could be missing for the Champions League round of 16 second leg. It is worth remembering that the national team player suffered an injury in the same place during the 2022 World Cup.

In addition to Neymar’s injury, PSG announced that left-back Nuno Mendes was also examined after the match against Lille. The 20-year-old has suffered a ligament strain in his right knee and is expected to miss the French team for the next few games.

Paris Saint-Germian’s next match will be the classic against Olympique de Marseille, for the French Championship. The duel is scheduled for next Sunday (26), at the Orange Velodrome stadium, in Marseille.
