French football legend Zinedine Zidane, who has not managed a team since leaving Real Madrid in 2021, said this Friday in London that he wants to resume activity.
“I want to go back, have a project. Today I have time, but I don’t know until when. I may have time and suddenly everything can change quickly”, said the former French star at the presentation of the new Formula 1 car by Alpine, which was named ambassador for programs for equal opportunities.
“I want to be busy”, insisted the three-time champion of the Champions League with Real Madrid (2016, 2017 and 2018).
Since the renewal of Didier Deschamps’ contract as coach of the French national team until 2026, the immediate future of the 50-year-old Zidane has been left open.
According to several reports, the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) is interested in him becoming the next coach of the national team.
Zidane was also talked about as a possible future PSG coach at a time when Christophe Galtier has been questioned after the poor results obtained in 2023.
