The technician of Paris Saint GermainChristophe Galtier, denied any relationship between the photo of Neymar in a fast food establishment and Kylian Mbappé’s statement on the need to “eat well and sleep well”, given on Tuesday after the 1-0 defeat by Bayern Munich.
“You cannot and I will not associate Kylian’s statements with the photo of ‘Ney’ in a ‘fast food'”, Galtier told the press, two days before receiving Lille in a Ligue 1 game.
After the defeat at home to Bayern Munich in the first leg of the round of 16 of the Champions League, Mbappé highlighted the importance of “eating well and sleeping well” to prepare for the return game, on March 8.
The next day, pictures of Neymar playing poker and then sitting in a cafeteria appeared, generating comments on social networks.
“I have the intimate conviction that there is no relationship between the photo that came out and the statement”, insisted Galtier.
“What Kylian said in the mixed zone is exactly what he said in the dressing room, declarations of great maturity and determination for everyone to remain mobilized, welcome declarations,” added the coach.
Galtier met individually with Neymar. “I told him what I thought, ‘Ney’ has the right on his day off, to recover, to play poker, he’s passionate”, he revealed.
“I told him what I thought about that photo that came out, which is between him and me,” he concluded.
