Makhachev criticized UFC fighters for refusing to fight Khabib Nurmagomedov’s brother Umar
The Russian champion of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Islam Makhachev spoke about the unwillingness of the promotion fighters to fight with Umar Nurmagomedov. The athlete spoke on Instagram (the social network is banned in the Russian Federation; belongs to the Meta corporation, which is recognized as extremist in Russia and banned).
“Then you will say, he hasn’t fought with the tops yet. And they, as usual, hid. And so the road to the title is lengthened, ”Makhachev criticized the fighters.
On January 13, Umar Nurmagomedov, who is the cousin of former UFC champion Khabib Nurmagomedov, complained that no one from the promotion wants to fight him. “When they asked me if I would fight [Коди] Barcelos, I said: “Yes, I don’t care with whom.” Even if it’s a debutant, I’m ready to fight. I want to be active,” the Russian added.
On September 14 last year, it was reported that Nurmagomedov signed a new contract with the organization for several fights. “I am very happy about this adventure and I want to thank all the people involved in it,” said the fighter.
Umar Nurmagomedov has 16 wins and no losses in MMA. He has four fights in the UFC.
