After Daniel Alves, Thiago Alcântara could also return to Barcelona

After Daniel Alves, Barcelona can repatriate another former acquaintance of the club. This is Thiago Alcântara. According to the Sky Sport, the steering wheel would have been requested by new coach Xavi Hernández.

Signed from Bayern Munich last season, the 30-year-old is suffering from injuries and has not started at Liverpool.

British media say the athlete could return to the Camp Nou later this season, in the winter transfer window in January.

Revealed by the culés, Thiago Alcântara left Barcelona in 2013, when the dispute for midfield was very fierce, including with Xavi himself. From Spain, he left for Bayern, at the time directed by Pep Guardiola. In 2020, he moved to Liverpool.

One factor that should make the negotiation difficult is that the midfielder has a contract in place with the Reds until mid-2024, and Barça would not be able to make a big offer to remove him from Anfield. Daniel Alves’ situation was resolved in a simpler way because the full-back was without a link after having terminated with São Paulo.

In the current season, for Jurgen Klopp’s team, Thiago Alcântara started in just two games, out of a total of seven he played.
