Lionel Messi’s father said on Thursday he found it difficult for the Argentine star to return to Barcelona, the club where he played for most of his career.
“I don’t believe it. The conditions are not given,” Jorge Messi told reporters at Josep Tarradellas Barcelona-El Prat International Airport in Barcelona, when asked if there are any possibilities for the Argentine to return.
Messi’s father recalled that the star “has a contract with Paris Saint-Germain” and said he had not spoken to Barcelona president Joan Laporta about the matter.
Asked if he would like Messi to end his career wearing the Barcelona shirt, Jorge Messi limited himself to stating that “life takes so many turns”.
Lionel Messi, who left Barcelona for Paris Saint-Germain in the summer (in the northern hemisphere) of 2021, has a contract signed with the French club until next June.
