The Slovenian cyclist UAE Team Emirates Tadej Pogacar has consolidated its leadership in the 69th Cycling Tour of Andalusia-Ruta del Sol, when repeating this Thursday in the second stagewith a goal in Alcalá la Real (Jaén) the victory obtained on the first day, the day before. Mikel Landa (Bahrain-Victorious) has entered quarter position and is thus found third overall, 52 seconds behind Pogacar, while Gotzon Martinof the Euskaltel-Euskadigo on first in the mountains classificationwith 24 points, six more than his immediate rival, the Catalan from EOLO-Kometa Alex Martín.

In this way, Pogacar has reinforced his yellow jersey, by achieving a four-second lead at the finish line over Enric Mas (Movistar), Santiago Buitrago, Landa’s teammate, and the cyclist from Alava himself. The leader of the UAE ranks dominates, for the moment, the race, supported by a great team; With 25 kilometers to go, he attacked to catch up with four riders who were ahead (Teuns, Mohoric, Rota and Zimmermann).

After achieving this, Mas, Landa, Carlos Rodríguez and Buitrago have reached the leading quintet, with which a group of nine cyclists has been formed to face the last 20 kilometers. On Friday the third stage of the Tour of Andalusia will take place, between Alcalá de Guadaíra (Seville) and Alcalá de los Gazules (Cádiz), with a route of 161 kilometers and a third-category port, Medina Sidonia, 31 kilometers away of arrival.
