Conte had managed Tottenham for the last two games but decided to resume his recovery following routine checkups. The coach clarified his situation on social media.
“My body suffered from my impatience and now I am forced to stop until my full recovery. Anyone who knows me understands the weight this places on me, but it’s necessary,” she explained.
Without Conte, Tottenham will be led by assistant Cristian Stellini. The assistant coach was on the edge of the field in the duel against Manchester City and should return to lead the team in the duel against West Ham, next Sunday for the Premier League.
