The Colombian Juan Cuadrado, recovered from a flu, will be in the group da Juventus to face Nantes on Thursday, in the first leg of the second phase of the Europa League, said the coach of the Italian team, Massimiliano Allegri.
As expected, Frenchman Paul Pogba, who is on the mend after undergoing surgery on his right knee in September, is not yet in a position to be named, Allegri added at a press conference on Wednesday.
Cuadrado, who returns after a muscle discomfort and a flu condition and having been left out of the weekend’s victory against Fiorentina by 1 to 0, for the Italian Championship, will be included, but “he is not 100%”.
Also returning to the team is defender Leonardo Bonucci, who suffered a muscle problem in his thigh and has yet to play in 2023.
The Europa League is “an important objective” as “it could be a gateway to the next Champions League”, admitted Allegri.
The chances of qualifying for Champions by Serie A are remote for Juve, as the club was punished with the loss of 15 points due to accounting irregularities.
