Shinnik doctor Agakhanyan said that Minai players started a fight because of Russian speech
The doctor of the Russian football club “Shinnik” Garegin Agakhanyan called his version of the fight with the Ukrainian football players “Minaya” in the Turkish Royal Seginus hotel. His words are quoted by RIA Novosti.
Agakhanyan said that the Ukrainians were the instigators of the fight, since the representatives of the Yaroslavl team had no intention of starting a conflict. “First, they caught one young man in an elevator in a few people, hit him for speaking Russian, then several people suggested that the head of the team sing the Ukrainian anthem,” he said.
On February 13, the players of the Russian and Ukrainian teams staged a mass brawl at the Royal Seginus Hotel. Police and an ambulance were called to the scene. The police made no arrests, but both teams were forced to leave the hotel.
Shinnik said that the Russian players stood up for their teammate, who was attacked by the Ukrainians. In Minai, they considered that the Russians provoked the Transcarpathians, and added that they did not want to live with Shinnik in the same hotel.
