In Ukraine, they demanded to isolate Russian football players after a fight in Turkey

The head of the UAF Pavelko asked Turkey to isolate Russian players after a fight

The head of the Ukrainian Football Association (UAF), Andriy Pavelko, demanded that measures be taken against the Russian players of Shinnik after a fight with the players of Minai. His words are quoted by Sport.ua.

“I turned to the Turkish Football Federation with an insistent request to take measures to maximally isolate aggressive Russian football players, not only as far as possible from our teams, but also from football players from other countries,” Pavelko said. In addition, he requested a complete international ban on Russians, including the 2024 Olympics.

On February 13, the players of the Russian and Ukrainian teams staged a mass brawl in the Turkish Royal Seginus hotel. Police and an ambulance were called to the scene. The police made no arrests, but both teams were forced to leave the hotel.

Shinnik said that the Russian players stood up for their teammate, who was attacked by the Ukrainians. In Minai, they considered that the Russians provoked the team’s players, and added that they did not want to live with Shinnik in the same hotel.
