SHOT: Roman Kostomarov’s pneumonia slowly regresses
Became known the details of the course of pneumonia in the Olympic champion in ice dancing Roman Kostomarov. This was reported by the Telegram channel SHOT.
According to him, the disease is slowly regressing. The athlete has a decrease in pneumatization (pulmonary insufficiency – approx. “Tapes.ru”).
It is noted that in the lungs of a 46-year-old former skater, fibrous changes are still occurring, in which connective tissue grows and scars appear, but they are becoming smaller. Doctors prescribed special drugs to the ex-figure skater, which accelerate the process of resorption of connective tissue.
Earlier it became known about the deterioration of the general condition of Kostomarov after the amputation of the fingers. “Sport-Express” reported an increase in temperature in an athlete, presumably due to stress. The chief doctor of a private ambulance in St. Petersburg, Lev Averbakh, also said that, despite the removal of the affected areas, the skater may continue to develop sepsis.
KP.RU reported about the amputation of both hands to the former athlete. At the same time, the Mash Telegram channel wrote that only a few fingers were removed to the skater. On February 7, information appeared in the Telegram channel “112” that the skater had his left foot amputated.
Kostomarov was hospitalized on 10 January. He was diagnosed with left-sided pneumonia in combination with influenza B.
