Tennis players Matias Wong, Mateo Castillo and Andrés Miño they achieved the title of the XII Stage of the Ecuajunior Circuit Tropicmax Cup 2021, played in the Umiña Tennis Clubby Manta.
Wong, in the unified 11-year-old category, beat Valeri Zambrano by 6-3 and 6-0; while in the 13 years unified, Mateo Castillo defeated in the title dispute Leonardo Villacreses 6-1, 6-4.
For its part, in more than 14 years unified, Andrés Miño bowed to Valentina Martinez by 6-3, 6-1.
In this stage 90 tennis players from 48 academies of Guayaquil, Manta, Portoviejo, The Junction, Riobamba, Salinas, Samborondón, Babahoyo, Quevedo, Machala, Esmeraldas, Jipijapa and Santo Domingo.
The organization presented the Fair Play Panathlon award, presented by Banco Guayaquil, to the player Valeska Zambrano.
“Soon there will be the new ranking where the first 15 players in each category will win the right to participate in the most important event of the year: the Master, which will take place in the Salinas Golf and Tennis Club from December 17 to 19. At this stage we awarded 6 participation scholarships for JTI Ecuador of the Ecuadorian Tennis Federation (FET), a program that is already delivering players for the next phase of the competition. We were once again able to give talks to parents, where they expressed their concerns and we transmitted the advice of the experts to help the children keep competing ”, said the director of the tournament, Johnny Saldivias.
The thirteenth stage of the Ecuajunior and Chiquitón tournament will take place in the National Tennis Center, in Guayaquil, on November 27 and 28.
Absolute National Championship
With the participation of 192 tennis players, the Absolute National Championship 2021, on the clay and cement courts of the Guayaquil Tennis Club Annex, located in Samborondón, from November 14 to 20.
This will be the last national tournament of the season organized by the Ecuadorian Tennis Federation.
It will be played in categories 12, 14, 16 and 18 years old, in women and men.
At 17:00 on Monday, November 15, the competition will be inaugurated, where the tennis players will receive a commemorative shirt.
