Mash: Roman Kostomarov amputated several fingers on both hands
Telegram-channel Mash denied information about the amputation of the hands of the Olympic champion in ice dancing Roman Kostomarov.
According to the publication, several fingers on both hands were amputated to the athlete, and not the entire hand, as previously reported. Doctors managed to stop the infection in time. It is specified that the 46-year-old former skater is conscious. His condition continues to be maintained by supplying oxygen through a tracheal tube.
On February 14, KP.RU, citing a source in medical circles, stated that Kostomarov had undergone a second operation and both hands had been amputated. It was noted that there is no official confirmation of this information.
On February 7, the skater had his left foot amputated. Later it became known that doctors were afraid for the condition of Kostomarov’s right leg and were doing everything possible to save it, despite the tissue dying off.
Kostomarov was hospitalized on 10 January. He was diagnosed with left-sided pneumonia in combination with influenza B.
