The National Stadium will fight against time until the last moment. Millions of zlotys in the game

The National Stadium has been closed for several months due to a structural defect in the roof. That is why the last test of the team before the World Cup in Qatar was moved to the Legia Warszawa stadium. Now the match against Albania is in question. PZPN already has a plan B, which is Gdańsk, but delays making a decision regarding the organizer of the meeting.

Who will host the match Poland – Albania? National Stadium or Polsat Plus Arena Gdańsk? “Nobody in their right mind will quit”

On Monday, the guests of Kacper Sosnowski in the Sport.pl Live program were the editor-in-chief of the Sportowy24.pl portal, Adam Godlewski, and the journalist of Sport.pl, Dawid Szymczak. They also referred to the issue of Poland’s match with Albania.

– No one in their right mind will resign from organizing a match at the National Stadium just like that, because it is about 8 or 9 million more than at any other facility. You can earn more than half as much as at other stadiums, so no one will let go of such an opportunity lightly. As long as there is hope that the National Stadium will be approved by the relevant services and that it will be possible to play a match with Albania there, all employees of the PZPN and probably the fans would also prefer it to take place at the National Stadium. I also talked to people responsible for security, from the perspective of the state, prestige or PZPN, it is only PLN 9 million, and if there is a shadow of a suspicion that something may happen, no one will risk it – said Adam Godlewski.

According to Kacper Sosnowski from Sport.pl, the decision is to be made in the coming days. – Before the weekend, it seemed that it would rather be Gdańsk. Then the experts were encouraged to try again to form an opinion and to be convinced that this is a safe stadium. Now the operators are waiting for approval. The application deadline expired on February 13, while PZPN agreed with UEFA and the Albanians to extend it a bit. They agreed and by Wednesday or Thursday we should know what the situation of the National Stadium is. As soon as a decision is made, it will be officially communicated. Have [PZPN – przyp. red] plan A and plan B, Sosnowski added.

– Everyone cares, PZPN cares, the National, which has lost many events, cares. On the other hand, we are waiting for experts and someone has to vouch. If a tragedy happens on wood, someone has to vouch for it. Today, everyone says: safety first. Before the weekend, no one believed that it would succeed. And it was awkward for Stadion to push. Since it takes so long, it means that this option is possible – added Dawid Szymczak from Sport.pl.
