FIA has softened the conditions for admission to tournaments for Russian riders with dual citizenship
The International Motorsport Federation (FIA) has softened the conditions for admission to tournaments for some Russian racers. This was reported on the website of the organization.
Russians and Belarusians with dual citizenship no longer need to sign a declaration of political neutrality and distance from the special operation in Ukraine. For single nationality athletes, this rule still applies.
Earlier, the Russian KamAZ-master team missed the Dakar rally due to the FIA requirement to sign questionnaires condemning the special operation. The team noted that the content of the document is political in nature and violates the principles of equal conditions for athletes.
The FIA, unlike most sports federations, did not completely remove the Russians from competitions under its auspices. Domestic athletes continue to compete in tournaments under a neutral flag.
