Fighter Conor McGregor called the victory of UFC champion Islam Makhachev over Volkanovski excellent
Irish mixed martial artist (MMA) Conor McGregor Twitter commented on the victory of Russian Islam Makhachev over Australian Alexander Volkanovski at UFC 284.
The athlete called the fight excellent. “There are no losers, there are only winners. Congratulations to everyone in the UFC,” he said. McGregor stressed that he must return to the octagon to defeat them.
On February 12, Makhachev defeated Volkanovski at UFC 284 by unanimous decision. He defended the organization’s lightweight title for the first time and will now top the list of the promotion’s best fighters.
In total, in his professional career, Makhachev suffered one defeat and won 24 victories. Volkanovski has 25 wins and two losses.
McGregor held his last fight in the summer of 2021, losing to American Dustin Poirier by technical knockout. The Irishman suffered a broken leg, from which he is still recovering. He should return to the octagon in the summer of 2023 and fight American Michael Chandler.
