Russian hockey player lost a kidney after the match

Dynamo-Altai hockey player Yegor Stronov lost a kidney as he was injured in a VHL match

Defender of the Dynamo-Altai club Egor Stronov lost a kidney after he was injured in the championship match of the All-Russian Hockey League (VHL). This was reported on the website of the Barnaul club.

The incident occurred in an away match against the Samara CSK VVS. The 23-year-old hockey player unsuccessfully collided with an opponent, after which he had to be hospitalized. Doctors discovered that Stronoff’s left kidney was damaged. Doctors tried to save the organ, but this was not possible. The athlete’s condition is assessed as moderate.

Dynamo expressed words of support to Stronov and his family. They wrote that the defender must fight to the last.

The meeting between the teams took place on February 11 and ended with the victory of the CSK VVS in shootouts with a score of 3:2. This season, Stronov has played 23 matches for Dynamo-Altai, in which he scored four points.
