UFC champion Makhachev said that Volkanovski won only in the last minute of the fight
Russian mixed martial artist (MMA) Islam Makhachev in Twitter answered the Australian Alexander Volkanovski to the words about the stolen victory.
“We must be honest: out of 25 minutes of the fight, the Wolf took only the last!” — wrote the 31-year-old athlete, noting that he reviewed their fight. So he responded to the words of Volkanovski, who said that he won the second, third and fifth rounds. The Australian was surprised that he was not recognized as the winner and demanded a rematch anytime anywhere.
On February 12, Makhachev defeated Volkanovski at UFC 284 by unanimous decision. He defended the organization’s lightweight title for the first time and will now top the list of the promotion’s best fighters.
In total, in his professional career, Makhachev suffered one defeat and won 24 victories. Volkanovski has 25 wins and two losses.
