Russian figure skater Kamila Valieva compared Olympic champion Alina Zagitova and two-time world champion Evgenia Medvedev. Her words are quoted by the YouTube channel Laysan Utyasheva.
Valieva called the athletes her idols in figure skating. “They are completely different, but unique and beautiful in their own way,” she added.
On January 14, the Russian Anti-Doping Agency stripped Valieva of her gold medal at the 2022 Russian Championship. At the same time, the organization informed the World Anti-Doping Agency that the athlete did not violate anti-doping rules.
