Sports Minister Kamil Bortniczuk said at an online meeting of sports ministers that the only compromise could be to allow Russians and Belarusians to participate in the Olympic Games in Paris under the flag of the refugee team. However, such a privilege would only be granted to dissidents, i.e. those who oppose the authorities. A few days earlier, Belarusian athletes appealed and proposed an “Anti-War Declaration”, on the basis of which athletes could be admitted to international competition.

Now Anfisa Rieztsova, a former Russian biathlete and ski runner, strongly criticized Kamil Bortniczuk. The four-time medalist of the Olympic Games (three gold and silver) did not mince words to the Minister of Sport.

– Poles should be punished for such proposals. They humiliate us so much that we have no strength left. You have to go to Thomas Bach [szef MiÄ™dzynarodowego Komitetu Olimpijskiego – red.] and ask why such chaos. It’s not even a humiliation, but an insult. Who are you? In sport, Poles are nobody, said Anfisa Rieztsova.
