Amazing victory of Wisła Płock in the Champions League. The 19-year-old goalkeeper is an absolute hero

Orlen Wisa Pock is doing very poorly in the Champions League this season. They have won just two of their ten matches so far and have made things very difficult for themselves in the group. To think about promotion to the play-offs, it was necessary to beat SC Magdeburg. The meeting started on Thursday at 20:45.

Orlen Wisła Płock defeated SC Magdeburg. She broke the losing streak

The game was very even in the early minutes of the first half. With time, Wisła was doing better and after 21 minutes they were leading by two goals. Shortly before the end of this part, the team from Magdeburg returned to the game and the scoreboard showed 10:10. However, the last fragments of the first half belonged entirely to the Polish team. Wisła scored four goals in a row and ended the first half hour leading 14:10. The 19-year-old goalkeeper Marcel Jastrzębski performed particularly well, recording as many as 11 successful saves. Tina Lucin is also worth mentioning. The Croatian put the spade in the visitors’ goal four times.

At the beginning of the second half, SC Magdeburg took advantage of Wisła’s mistakes and eliminated the losses. The Polish team was leading only 17:15. In the following minutes, however, Jastrzębski showed off again. First, the 19-year-old defended two throws in a row, thanks to which the players of Płock took a breath and increased their lead over the rival again. Soon after, he again showed great saves, including on a penalty kick. 10 minutes before the end Wisła was leading 23:20.

Unfortunately, in the final parts of the match, Wisła complicated the situation and the rivals managed to equalize at 24:24. Gisli Kristjansson, who scored a total of seven goals, deserves a lot of credit for this. However, the Płock team managed to take the lead again, and two minutes before the end, Marcel Jastrzębski once again became the hero of the evening, saving two throws from his opponent.

Wisła finally won 25:24. With this victory, he has seven points and is seventh in the table. It loses one point to places guaranteeing participation in the play-offs. There are three games left until the end of the group stage and the Polish team still has a chance to advance. The next match will be played on Wednesday at 20:45. On that day, he will face GOG Handbold. SC Magdeburg is in third place with 14 points.
