The technical assistant TottenhamChristian Stellini said on Thursday that French goalkeeper Hugo Lloris, who has injured his knee, will not play again for at least five weeks.
“We are sad for Hugo, who is injured. He needs a good recovery, certainly five to seven weeks before he comes back with us,” explained Stellini, who temporarily replaces Italian coach Antonio Conte, who is recovering from gallbladder surgery.
Lloris was injured late in Sunday’s 1-0 win over Manchester City after an aerial dispute with midfielder Rodri.
The English press reported on Wednesday that scans had revealed that the French goalkeeper’s ligaments had been damaged.
Currently fifth in the Premier League standings, Londoners are fighting for a place in next season’s Champions League.
They will also face Milan in the last 16 of the Champions League without being able to count on the captain, who has been at the club for ten years.
Fraser Foster is tipped to replace Lloris in upcoming appointments.
