On Tuesday, the team of Iga ¦wiątek announced that the best tennis player in the world gained a new sponsor – the Oshee brand. As part of the cooperation, it is planned to a special line of products created with the participation of Świątek and signed with her name.

– I have decided to take the next step in building my career. Being associated with the Oshee brand is very natural for me, because I know their products, I like them, they really support my training process and sports performance, and cooperation with the brand for active people is consistent with my lifestyle. The choice of the Polish brand is not accidental – my goal, also outside the court, is to support and promote Poland – said the leader of the world ranking.

The tennis player’s new sponsor is a producer of isotonic drinks, vitamin drinks and other products for active people, both those training professionally and as a hobby. Sport.pl asked expert Adam Pawlukiewicz how he assessed the cooperation between Świątek and Oshee. Pawlukiewicz represents the Pentagon Research company, which researches i.a. effectiveness of sports sponsorship.

– Tennis is often associated with white color, nobility, elite. Research shows that this is very similar to the perception of Oshee products. Both parties to the contract are doomed to success – believes our interlocutor.

“One of the highlights”

According to Pawlukiewicz, this is an example of a good match between the brand of the athlete and the sponsor. – There is a magic word in marketing: positioning. The times are coming when, apart from commercial sport at the highest level, there will be a fashion for a healthy life, i.e. amateur sport. Tennis is a sport that can be practiced by anyone, from kindergarten to retirement. Hundreds of millions of viewers watch tennis matches on television. Many of them play personally, he says.

And he adds: – In marketing, activities that increase product sales will start to count. There are several thousand pieces of information about Iga in the serious media every day, and together with Robert Lewandowski, they are the most recognizable Poles.

The cooperation also includes the team of tennis player – coach Tomasz Wiktorowski, physiotherapist and physical preparation coach Maciej Ryszczuk, as well as psychologist Daria Abramowicz. The contract was concluded for two years with the possibility of extension.

– Iga Świątek’s contract with Oshee is one of the most important events in Polish – and not only Polish – sports marketing in 2023. It so happened that Iga is Polish and Oshee is a Polish company, which not everyone knows about. Both parties to the contract are conquering the world – above all with quality – believes Pawlukiewicz.

There was Lewandowski, there is Świątek

Świątek is to be the brand’s global ambassador. The leader of the WTA ranking will promote products not only in Poland, but also in Great Britain, Finland, Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Romania, Greece and Lithuania. These are all markets where Oshee is present. – Foreign markets are very important for most companies. An interesting fact: even in Qatar at the world championships, I saw Oshee products in many stores – tells us Pawlukiewicz, who worked on the last World Cup.

How did you decide to choose Iga Świątek? What – apart from sports successes – could decide about choosing her as an ambassador? – Iga is a very attractive person and can be a role model for many. Her speeches are natural, and at the same time contain an element of youthful aggressiveness and a sense of humour. For Iga, it is also an opportunity to directly learn about business mechanisms that will be useful after the end of her career – concludes our interlocutor.
