Bizkaia-Durango, LABORAL Kutxa, Euskaltel-Euskadi, Caja Rural and Kern Pharma will be at the Clásica de Almería

The teams Bizkaia-Durango and LABORAL Kutxain the women’s race, on Saturday, and Euskaltel-Euskadi, Caja Rural and Kern Pharmain the men’s event, on Sunday, they will be this weekend in the Almeria Classic. The participation of the Asparrena broker has also been announced Lourdes Oyarbide (Movistar), and the empty corridors of Cofidis Ion Izagirre and Jonathan Lastraamong other names that are going to take the exit in Puebla de Vícar.

In this context, the female race will be disputed Saturday on a route of 137 kilometers, ending in Vera. The cyclists will find two mountain passes: the Alto de Cuesta Blanca, of third category, at kilometer 65, and another of fourth category, after passing through Sorbas, at kilometer 99.

18 teams will be at the start line, three of them from the UCI WorldTeam category

Talking about the male testconsists of 190.3 kilometers, which the runners must face the Sunday. A total of 21 teams will be at the starting line, eight of them from the highest category, UCI WorldTeam, with several candidates for the final victory: in addition to the aforementioned Basque cyclists, the Eritrean Biniam Girmay (Intermarché ), the 2022 winner Alexander Kristoff (Norwegian, from Uno-X Pro Cycling Team), the Italian from Israel-Premier Tech Giacomo Nizzolo, who won in 2021 and achieved third place in 2022, and the Colombian from Movistar Fernando Gaviria.

All of them, and the other members of the peloton, must overcome four ports: Celín, second category, at kilometer 47; that of La Alquería, third, at kilometer 83; that of Fuente Marbella, also third, at kilometer 91 of the race; and, finally, the Cuesta de Almerimar, at kilometer 138, just over 50 from the finish line, which will be located in Roquetas de Mar.
