Atletico Madrid wants to sign France striker

O Atletico Madrid wants to hire a striker after the departures of Matheus Cunha and João Félix. The ball of the moment is the Frenchman Marcus Thuram, who plays for Borussia Monchengladbach and played in the World Cup in Qatar with his country.

The 25-year-old has a contract with the German club until June 2023 and has also attracted interest from other teams such as Bayern, Arsenal, Chelsea and Barcelona. Marcus’ father, the historic former player Lilian Thuram, revealed that his dream is to see his son play for the Barcelona.

However, the transfer of Marcus to Atlético would be very important for the club, because, despite the arrival of Depay, the team has its other strikers (Griezmann, Morata and Correa) with a contract close to ending.

Borussia Monchengladbach demanded 15 million euros (R$ 83 million) to release the player, which was promptly refused by Atlético due to the club’s economic situation and the athlete’s contract.

The Madrid club sees Thuram as a player who has a lot of room for development and has compatriot Griezmann to convince the center forward next season.

In the current season, Thuram played 20 games, scored 13 goals and distributed four assists for Monchengladbach.
