Turkey’s Yeni Malatyaspor football player Turkaslan dies in earthquake

The goalkeeper of the Turkish club “Yeni Malatyaspor” Ahmet Eyup Türkaslan died as a result of the earthquake. This is reported in Twitter commands.

The club said that the 28-year-old player died, being under the rubble. “Yeni Malatyaspor” expressed condolences to the family of the deceased. It is noted that the athlete’s wife, also injured in the earthquake, survived.

The goalkeeper has been playing for Yeni Malatyaspor since last season. Prior to that, he represented Osmanlyspor and Umraniyespor.

On the morning of February 6, an earthquake of magnitude 7.4 hit Turkey. The epicenter of the cataclysm was the area in the province of Kahramanmarash in the south of the country. Later, another earthquake of magnitude 7.7 was also recorded in the central part of the country. According to the latest data, 3,381 people died as a result, and another 20,424 people received various injuries.
