The Investigative Committee (IC) opened a criminal case against the Russian mixed style fighter (MMA) Usman Nurmagomedov. TASS reports.
The case was initiated under article 318 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“The use of violence not dangerous to life or health against a government official in connection with the performance of his official duties”). Nurmagomedov’s car hit a police officer at a checkpoint near the airport in Kaspiysk. The athlete was already detained in Moscow.
The detainee is the cousin of Khabib Nurmagomedov, known for his performances in the Absolute Fighting Championship (UFC). Usman Nurmagomedov represents another American promotion – Bellator.
Telegram channel Mash published a video of the incident. It shows how the driver of Toyota Camry makes his way to the airport in Kaspiysk. Ignoring the police officer’s demands to stop, he resumed movement and hit another law enforcement officer who came to the rescue.
