Karim Benzema, Éder Militão and Courtois are enrolled in the Club World Cup. Despite the injuries, coach Carlo Ancelotti revealed that the three will go to Morocco if Real Madrid advance to the final of the competition.
“They are on the list because we believe they can be here on Saturday. We leave them in Madrid to receive the best possible treatment. If we play the final, they will come on Thursday”, said the coach in a press conference this Tuesday.
Real Madrid released, on Monday, the list of players who would go to the tournament headquarters without the name of the three players. However, the club sent FIFA the final report with the presence of both.
Ancelotti’s charges enter the field for the World Cup this Wednesday, for the semifinal. The Spanish team faces Al Ahly, at 4 pm (Brasília time), at the Príncipe Moulay Abdellah Stadium, in Rabat (MAR).
If the Meringue team defeats the Egyptians, they will face the winner of the confrontation between Flamengo and Al Hilal of Saudi Arabia in the final.
In the last game before embarking for the Club World Cup, Real Madrid was defeated by Real Mallorca away from home, for Spanish Championshipby 1 to 0. Coach Carlo Ancelotti no longer had the injured players at his disposal and made improvisations in several sectors.
In addition to the three athletes already mentioned, Hazard, Mendy and Lucas Vásquez are also injured and are definitely out of the championship.
