Lazio is tied with Hellas Verona and loses chance to overtake rival in Italian

This Monday, Lazio stumbled against Hellas Verona for the 21st round of the Italian Championship. The duel ended in a 1-1 draw, with goals from Pedro and Ngonge, and prevented Lazio from overtaking rivals Roma in the table.

The result kept the Celeste team in fourth place, opening the classification zone of the Champions League, with 39 points. Hellas Verona, on the other hand, is still in 18th place with 14 points and occupies the relegation zone.

First time

The team led by Mauricio Sarri played in their style against Verona and dominated the first half. Lazio built the plays playing from the defense field, attracted the opponent’s marking and activated the attackers with long launches.

In search of a reaction, Hellas Verona came back better from the break and took advantage of the inattention of Lazio’s defense. At 5 minutes of the second half, Lazovic took a corner kick and found Cyril Ngonge on the first post. The attacker anticipated the marking and headed hard to tie the match.
