Reporters during live broadcasts often have to face various obstacles. Ivan Mejtsky, who was reporting on Sunday’s competition at the cyclo-cross world championships in Hoogerheide in the Netherlands, found out about it. The journalist not only had to shout over a crowd of 60,000 fans, but also face fans who wanted to be in the camera lens at all costs.
An unexpected kiss during a Czech TV broadcast
On Sunday, the women’s U-23 race took place. The Czechs counted on a good performance by Kristina Zemanowa, who finally won the bronze medal. The winner, Shirin van Anrooij from the Netherlands, lost just over a minute and a half.
Earlier in the junior race, the Frenchman Leo Bisiaux enjoyed winning the gold medal. The result of the 17-year-old made French fans euphoric, who decided to share their great joy with the Czech journalist. During the broadcast before the junior women’s race, they surrounded Mejtsky, and one of the fans in particular gave him a hard time. First, he kissed the journalist several times on the cheek, and then went a step further and kissed him on the mouth. The Czech was initially clearly surprised by this situation, and later returned to further announcement of the race.
In both races there were also representatives of Poland, who did not join the fight for high places. Among the juniors, Brajan Świder was the best, taking 40th place. Ksawier Garnek was 53rd, Mikołaj Kubicka 63rd, and Ksawery Adaszak finished in the penultimate, 69th place. In the junior race, the only Polish competitor was Malwina Mul, who was ranked 20th out of 32 competitors.
