Turkish wrestler Taha Akgül spoke about the death of two underage athletes under the rubble in the city of Kahramanmaras. His words are quoted by Spor Arena.

Akgül said that the building where Marash Belediyespor fighters lived was destroyed. It also contained the players of one of the local teams. “They started pulling out our brothers, two wrestlers aged 14 and 15 died. There is no news from the rest of the children. No one comes out from under the rubble,” he said. The wrestler added that rescuers continue to work on the spot.

Earlier, Anadolu showed the first footage of the destruction of Kahramanmaras. One of the central streets is visible on them, on both sides of which there are ruins of residential buildings. Smoke is visible in some areas.

Turkey was struck by a magnitude 7.8 earthquake, the strongest to hit the country since 1939. A few hours later, another earthquake with a magnitude of 7.7 was recorded in the central part of the country. Also tremors were felt in Syria, Lebanon and Cyprus. The number of victims of the emergency, according to the latest data, exceeded 1000.
