Coach Javier Mendez explained the defeat of Russian mixed martial artist (MMA) Fedor Emelianenko in his farewell fight. His words are quoted by Sport-Express.
The mentor of the ex-champion of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Khabib Nurmagomedov said he was not surprised by the defeat of Emelianenko. “Based on the exchange that I saw, he was a little anxious and loaded. Yes, this happens, but here he burned out a little. I knew he was in trouble when he threw his first punch,” Mendes said.

On February 5, Emelianenko lost to American Ryan Bader by knockout in the first round. The fight, which headlined the Bellator 290 tournament, was held at heavyweight, with the title of the champion of the organization, which was owned by the Russian opponent, at stake.
