Euskaltel-Euskadi completes the squad for 2022 with the Galician Carlos Canal

Euskaltel-Euskadi has completed the squad that will compete in 2022 with the Galician cyclist Carlos Canal. Canal was Spanish champion of cyclocross and mountain bike in the junior category, and has spent two years on the road as a professional. The new signing will give the team a “future and diversity”, as reported by Euskaltel-Euskadi.

Carlos Canal stood out in the junior category in mountain biking and cyclocross (he was champion of Spain in 2019 in both modalities and stepped on the podiums of the World Cup) and made the leap to professional road cycling in 2020 at Burgos-BH.

In his two years in the elite, the Galician cyclist has shown his qualities and was the youngest of the Vuelta a EspaƱa 2021, with only 20 years. Likewise, he continues his studies in Industrial Organization Engineering. As for the road, it has demonstrated its ability to compete in one-day events, notable on the French, Belgian and Dutch calendar.

Asier Etxeberria, Unai Iribar and Xabier Isasa are the signings of the team of Kutxa Labor, with which Euskaltel-Euskadi has completed next year’s group, with 20 runners.
