The landing hill in Willingen is taking its toll. Fall

This year’s weekend of the Women’s and Men’s Ski Jumping World Cup in Willingen, Germany, is not one of the most successful. Due to the weather in Hessen for several days already on Friday the landing hill was very uneven, which caused difficulties for many athletes.

Worsening of the situation

Unfortunately, from Sunday morning, the weather decided to make the situation even worse. Because in Willingen it is raining or raining with snow, which not only melts the natural inrun tracks, but also deepens the holes on the landing hill. The ladies who started their competition before noon were the first to find out how difficult the conditions are at the German facility.

In particular, we are talking about Finka Jenny Rautionaho. The competitor, who jumped with the number 16, showed a very decent jump on 128.5 meters, which would put her in the lead. Unfortunately, a moment after landing one of her skis was conquered, which caused a very ugly fall of the experienced ski jumper.

According to preliminary information, the 26-year-old representative of Finland was only badly beaten. At the same time, a concussion is not ruled out, which would exclude the competitor from the competition for several days.

Let us remind you that the second men’s individual competition is scheduled for today at 16:00. However, if the weather conditions do not improve, the competition is more and more questionable, regardless of the fairly fair wind conditions.
