The world champion in ski freestyle from Belarus Alexandra Romanovskaya is in the Partizanskiy district police department of Minsk. This was reported by the Sports Solidarity Foundation (BSSF) in Telegram.
As it became known to the organization, the athlete was detained on Wednesday, November 10, after training. The reasons for what happened are being investigated.
25-year-old Romanovskaya specializes in acrobatics. She won gold at the 2019 world championship. In the same year, she won two victories at the Universiade. In January 2020, the athlete was awarded the title of Honored Master of Sports of Belarus.
After the start of protests against the results of the presidential elections in the country in August 2020, the freestyler actively expressed her civic position. The athlete signed open letters against the use of violence against protesters, and also participated in the recording of relevant video messages.
