Saudi Arabia pays 90 percent of Cristiano Ronaldo’s salary at Al Nasr
The main source of funding for payments to the Portuguese footballer Al-Nasra Cristiano Ronaldo is Saudi Arabia. Such details became known to The Athletic.
It is noted that the state pays 90 percent of the striker’s salary. Thus, the club pays only ten percent to Ronaldo. “This is an opportunity to interact with one of the best players in the history of football. This is a historic moment for our club, for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and for the entire region,” a team source explained.
The salary of 37-year-old Ronaldo at Al Nasr, including bonuses, is 200 million euros a year. This makes the Portuguese the highest paid athlete in the world.
Ronaldo moved to Al Nasr on December 30, 2022. The Portuguese contract is for two years.
