The HRC explained Kokorin’s words about the benefits of prison with good conditions in his colony

A member of the Human Rights Council under the President of the Russian Federation, Eva Merkacheva, reacted to the words of the Russian forward of the Cypriot “Aris” Alexander Kokorin about the benefits of prison for men. It is reported by Gazeta.Ru.

“There are studies that confirm that after a person spends a certain amount of time in prison, serious mental problems occur. People who have gone through prison all need rehabilitation,” Merkacheva said.

She also noted that Kokorin was serving his sentence in good conditions. “I was in his colony, in a cell. All was well there. That is, his school of life, although harsh, is one that can be endured, ”Merkacheva explained, adding that this does not always happen.

Earlier, Kokorin said that he did not regret having a criminal record. “I once said that every normal guy and man should serve time in order to get and feel such a school. This is a life hack to bring the guys who have swum to their senses – for one or two months in a pre-trial detention center, ”said the footballer.

In 2018, Kokorin with his younger brother Kirill and football player Pavel Mamaev staged two fights in the center of Moscow. As a result of the incident, the athletes were convicted and spent ten months in a pre-trial detention center and two more in prison, after which they were released on parole.
