The Athletic Club has executed the option to remain owned by Ander Herrera until June 30, 2024as announced on Wednesday by the Bilbao entity.
The midfielder returned to the rojiblanco club at the beginning of the season, on loan from Paris Saint-Germain; Now, Athletic has activated the option to keep it in property, with which, consequently, it is already owned by the Bilbao team, at least until the end of next season.
Ander Herrera, 33, is currently in his second spell at Athletic. In the first, between 2011 and 2014, he played 128 games, and was part of the runner-up team in the Europa League and the Copa del Rey in 2012.
In the summer of 2014, he signed for Manchester United, after the English club deposited the 36 million euros of its termination clause, and in 2019 he signed for Paris Saint-Germain, where he played three seasons.
