See which Europeans can guarantee Cup berth in the penultimate round of Qualifiers

With Germany and Denmark already classified, the European Qualifiers for the 2022 World Cup reach the penultimate round with more teams with chances to obtain a place for the World Cup in Qatar.

Only the first from each bracket qualifies directly for the World Cup, while the second will participate in a knockout with two teams classified through the last League of Nations. The draw for the duels will be on the 26th of November, bringing together twelve European candidates who will fight for three European spots in Qatar.

Group A

Neither country will guarantee qualification in this round, but runners-up Portugal could take a crucial step if they beat Ireland on Thursday. The victory will guarantee a two-point advantage over first-placed Serbia, which does not play this week and will be the last opponents of the Portuguese.

B Group

Sweden can qualify if they beat Georgia, as long as Spain don’t beat Greece in Athens on Thursday. If the Spaniards win, the place will be decided in Seville in the next round, when the hosts will host the Swedes.
