THE Manchester United announced early this Wednesday the signing of Austrian midfielder Marcel Sabitzer, from Bayern Munchenon loan.
The northern England side were forced to race on Tuesday to finalize the transfer of the Austrian midfielder following the ankle injury of Dane Christian Eriksen, who will be sidelined until May. Erik ten Hag’s team secured the signing of Dutch striker Wout Weghorst also in January.

Sabitzer, 28, was captain of Germany’s RB Leipzig and played 68 games for the Austrian national team.
“Sometimes in life you have to make big decisions quickly,” said Sabitzer, who will play for the Old Trafford club for the rest of the season.
Manchester United is currently fourth in the Premier League and favorite to reach the League Cup final. For the tournament, the team will face Nottingham Forest this Wednesday, at 5 pm (Brasília time), for the second game of the semifinal.
