Iga ¦wiątek was a definite favorite to win the Australian Open. The leader of the WTA ranking, however, sensationally dropped out of the competition before the quarterfinals. In the fourth round, she had to recognize the superiority of Jelena Rybakina. Kazaszka won 6:4, 6:4.
Iga Świątek amused fans with a story from years ago. “It was stupid”
¦wi±tek, however, does not dwell on the defeat and is already thinking about the next competition. “Accept, adapt, move on … I’m home, going back to work after a few quieter days,” she wrote on Instagram. The next challenge will be the participation in the tournament in Doha on February 13-18. ¦wiątek will defend the title won last year.

Before the Polish woman comes out on the court again, we can experience some entertainment thanks to her. Iga Świątek took part in the program “The Hundred” of the Wide World of Sports channel on YouTube. During it, she decided to make a surprising confession. She told a funny story from years ago.
Świątek and the second guest, comedian Mike Goldstein, had to guess how the respondents answered a given question (it was a group of one hundred people, hence the name of the program “The Hundred” – editor’s note). – How many respondents have fake social media accounts? the conductor asked. Świątek predicted that it was only 5 percent of the respondents. Goldstein bet 15 percent.
By the way, Iga Świątek revealed that she used to use a “fake account” herself. As we could hear, it served her to make jokes about her friends. It was when she attended elementary school. The host asked what kind of jokes she was making. – We were texting our friend and… as if I was pretending that I was a boy who wanted to ask her out on a date. She went out somewhere and … it became a mess – said the Polish woman, then clearly embarrassed, she hid her face in her hands. Everyone in the studio burst out laughing. – Don’t judge me. It was stupid – only Swiatek threw.
In the end, Mike Goldstein was closer to the correct answer. It turned out that 17 percent of those surveyed use fake social media accounts. The next question concerned Poland and what Australians think the capital of our country is. Only 32 percent knew the correct answer. – I am disappointed – said Iga Świątek.
