Aminata Diallo, a player for Paris Saint-Germain, was arrested this Wednesday by the Regional Police of Versailles. The athlete is accused of participating in an aggression against a teammate, Kheira Hamraoui.
Kheira was robbed last Thursday after leaving a restaurant in Paris. The player received blows to the legs with iron bars, and had to be urgently transported to a hospital.
After the investigation, Aminata Diallo was named as a participant in the case. The athlete will have to provide clarification to the French justice.
In a statement, the PSG said it was aware of the events, condemned any type of violence and that it will collaborate with the police to clarify the facts.
“Paris Saint-Germain can confirm that Aminata Diallo was detained this morning by the Versailles Regional Police as part of proceedings following an attack on an athlete from the club last Thursday. PSG condemns in the strongest possible terms the violence committed. Since Thursday , the club has taken all necessary measures to ensure the health, well-being and safety of the entire women’s team. PSG is working with the Versailles police to clarify the facts. The club is aware of the progress of procedures and will study what measures to take”.
