Football player Dani Alves’ wife files for divorce amid rape allegations
Joana Sanz, wife of Brazilian soccer player Dani Alves, has filed for divorce amid allegations of rape. Marca reports.
According to the publication, Sans does not doubt the testimony of the victim and made a deliberate decision. The 30-year-old model filed a petition through lawyers, as the 39-year-old athlete refused to meet his wife in prison. It is noted that she regrets the statements in which she publicly supported her husband.
Alves was arrested on January 20. The footballer’s alleged victim reported that he locked her in a nightclub bathroom, where he beat and raped her. At the same time, Alves’ wife came out in support of her husband.
Later, doctors confirmed that the victim of Alves had injuries indicative of resistance. The information was confirmed by a witness who was in the club. The football player faces from 4 to 12 years in prison.
Alves is the most titled football player in the world. He became the champion of France, Italy, Spain and won the national cups of these countries. As part of the Brazilian national team, the defender won the Copa America and the Confederations Cup twice, and also won the Olympic Games and the World Youth Championship.
