Ukrainian Chelsea player Mudrik criticized for using racist language
Ukrainian Chelsea newcomer Mykhailo Mudryk has been accused of racism. It is reported by The Sun.
In July 2022, Mudrick posted a video in Tiktok, where he performed the track “Freestyle” hip-hop of the performer Lil Baby, which is 16 times mentioned the word “niger”. Kick It Out, an organization dedicated to combating discrimination and racism in football, condemned the player for using racist language.
After that, the representative of Mudrik said that the player deeply regrets what happened. “Although he only wanted to perform the song, Mikhail deeply regrets his decision and admits from the bottom of his heart that it was inappropriate. The video has already been removed,” he said.
The transfer of Mudrik to Chelsea became known on January 15. His contract is for 7.5 years. The Londoners paid Shakhtar Donetsk 70 million euros for the player. Another 30 million Chelsea can pay as bonuses.
22-year-old Mudrik is a native of Krasnograd (Kharkiv region). This season, he has made 18 appearances for Shakhtar in all competitions, scoring ten goals and making nine assists.
