Vanguardia: Brazilian Dani Alves’ lawyer demanded the release of the footballer from custody
The defense of Brazilian footballer Dani Alves, accused of rape, filed an appeal. This became known to Vanguardia.
Alves’ lawyer Cristobal Martell demanded the release of the player from custody. He provided a document stating that the 39-year-old Brazilian does not intend to run away and will be in Spain until the trial. As another measure of restraint, the lawyer suggested the seizure of the passport, the payment of bail and the wearing of an electronic tracking bracelet.
Alves was arrested on January 20. The alleged victim of the football player reported that on December 30, he locked her in the toilet of the Sutton nightclub, where he beat and raped her. Doctors confirmed that the girl had injuries indicating resistance. Alves faces 4 to 12 years in prison.
Alves is the most titled football player in the world. He won the championships of France, Italy, Spain and won the national cups of these countries. As part of the Brazilian national team, the defender won the Olympic Games and the World Youth Championship, and also won the America’s Cup and the Confederations Cup twice each.
