After defeat, José Mourinho praises Napoli’s campaign in the Italian: “Little star of champion”

This Sunday, Napoli beat Roma 2-1 in Serie A. With that, the team opened 13 points of advantage in the leadership of the national. After the match, the coach of the club from the capital of Italy, José Mourinho, in an interview with DAZN, praised the rival’s campaign in the competition and teased when remembering his achievements.

“I congratulated Napoli and Spalletti at the end of the game. I thanked him for a gift he gave me before the game and repeated what I said yesterday: we saw Napoli with the champion’s star”, he said.

“I know this little star very well because I’ve won eight national championships in my career. This championship is theirs,” he added.

The situation and upcoming games of Roma and Napoli

While Napoli shoots at the top of the leaderboard, Roma has a less impressive campaign. After 20 games, the team appears in sixth place, outside the Champions League classification zone. However, the distance to vice-leader Internazionale is only three points (37 against 40).

In the 21st round, therefore, Napoli visit Spezia, at 8:30 am (Brasília time) next Sunday. The day before, Roma will host Empoli, starting at 2 pm. Before that, however, the club returns to the field for the quarterfinals of the Italian Cup, when it plays against Cremonese.
