The IOC made a new statement about the return of Russian athletes to tournaments

The IOC said that the concept of the performance of the Russians under a neutral flag has proven itself

The International Olympic Committee (IOC) has made a new statement about the return of Russian athletes to tournaments. This is reported in Twitter organizations.

The IOC considered that the concept of the Russians performing under a neutral flag has proven itself well and is now being discussed by the members of the committee. They approved the participation of Russian tennis players in a neutral status at the Australian Open tournament and stressed that such a concept is supported by the majority of participants in the Olympic movement.

On January 25, the IOC announced that it was considering the possibility of individual admission to competitions for Russian and Belarusian athletes. It is clarified that only athletes who did not support the conduct of a special operation in Ukraine and did not violate anti-doping rules will be able to get permission to compete in international tournaments.

At the Australian Open, the Russians played in a neutral status. The best result among domestic tennis players was shown by Karen Khachanov, who reached the semi-finals of the tournament.
