The condition of the hospitalized Olympic ice dance champion Roman Kostomarov is indeed improving. This was announced in a conversation with Lenta.ru by a source familiar with the situation.

On January 28, it became known about the positive changes in the state of the figure skater, Olympic champion Roman Kostomarov. It was noted that the 45-year-old athlete’s heart rate returned to normal and the high temperature subsided. Kostomarov is also already communicating with his relatives.

“Indeed, everything is so,” the interlocutor of Lenta.ru said, commenting on reports about the positive dynamics of Kostomarov’s condition.

On January 24, information appeared that Kostomarov regained consciousness and began to talk. It is noted that doctors continue treatment and administer sleeping pills to the athlete to fully restore the body.

The improvement in Kostomarov’s condition became known on January 19. It was noted that doctors are thinking about disconnecting the skater from the blood oxygenation machine (ECMO).

Kostomarov was hospitalized on 10 January. The Olympic champion was diagnosed with left-sided pneumonia combined with influenza B. Later, the athlete’s father announced that Roman had been transferred to a hospital in Kommunarka.
